Chinese Children Visa Born in the US/CN

The Q2 Visa is designed for foreigners who wish to make a short-term visit to China to see relatives who are either Chinese citizens or foreigners with permanent residency in China. This visa allows a stay of up to 180 days. When applying for this visa, ensure all your documents are printed or photocopied on A4 paper and submitted in the following order:

1. Submit your original passport, ensuring it has at least six months of validity remaining and at least two blank pages.

2. Provide photocopies of your passport’s information page and any previous Chinese visas you may have.

3. Fill out a visa application form completely, sign it, and attach a recent color passport photo with a light background.

4. An invitation letter from your relatives in China must include:

  • Your personal information such as name, gender, date of birth, and passport number.
  • Details of your visit, including the purpose, expected arrival and departure times, places you will stay, your relationship with the inviter, and your financial source during the stay in China.
  • Inviter’s details including their name, contact number, address, and signature.

This invitation letter can be a fax, photocopy, or printout, but the consulate may request to see the original.

5. Provide photocopies of the inviter’s Chinese ID card (both sides) or the inviter’s passport and permanent residence permit.

6. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you also need to provide originals and photocopies of your most recent legal entry into the U.S. and proof of your legal stay, work, or study status in the U.S.

7. If you are under 18 years old, you also need to provide:

  • A photocopy of your birth certificate.
  • Photocopies of your parents’ passports or driver’s licenses.

8. If you are a Chinese descendant under 18 or were a Chinese citizen before acquiring foreign nationality, check the center’s official website or contact our customer service for more specific document requirements.

Consular officers may request additional supporting documents, supplementary materials, or arrange an interview based on your circumstances. The issuance, validity, duration of stay, and number of entries of the visa will be determined based on your specific situation.
