1. Use of valid multiple-entry visas
Those holding multiple-entry visas issued before March 28, 2020, that are still valid can use these visas to travel to China starting from March 15, 2023.
2. Applying for tourist or medical visas
Starting from March 15, 2023, you can apply for visas for tourism or medical purposes.
3. Appointments required for in-person visa application submissions
Starting from March 13, 2023, you must schedule an appointment through the [China Visa Application Online Appointment System](https://avas.mfa.gov.cn/). After filling out the visa application form online at [China Visa Online Form](https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/), you should schedule an appointment to submit your visa application.
4. Consulate’s visa application acceptance times
The consulate accepts visa applications in person from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The consulate is closed on weekends and public holidays.
5. Processing Chinese passport renewals
Currently, the consulate only processes visa applications on site. Passport and travel document applications continue to be handled through the “China Consul” app and “Two-Way Mailing” method. For inquiries about passport and travel document applications, please email [email protected] and [email protected].
6. Visa requirements for valid residence permit holders
Individuals holding valid residence permits (for work, private affairs, family reunion, or study) do not need to apply for a visa separately.
7. Passport requirements for visa applications
When submitting a visa application, you must provide the original passport, which should be valid for more than 6 months and have at least one blank visa page.
